Traits:
- Externally yellowish-brown to dark brown, with longitudinally wrinkles and transverse lenticels. Texture hard, softened when moistened, fracture yellowish-white or pale yellowish-brown, bark thick, scattered with brown spotted secretory cavities, cambium ring yellowish-brown, wood paler in color. Odor, strongly aromatic; taste, sweet, pungent, slightly bitter and numb.
