Furazolidone, Furaltadone, Nitrofurazone, and Nitrofurantoin are four mainly nitrofurans which are widely used synthetic broad-spectrum antibiotics, frequently used for their antibacterial properties in food-producing industries. Nitrofurans have been prohibited using on farm feeding animals due to increasing the possibility of cancer risk. Because of the characteristics of nitrofuran drugs are very rapidly metabolized, they cannot be detected shortly after treating it. Therefore, detecting of these residues need to be based on the detection of the tissue bond metabolites of nitrofuran original drugs. The tissue bound nitrofuran metabolites are detectable for a long time after treating and therefore, they are used for the detection of the Nitrofuran metabolites.
